What to Expect in a CrossFit Class

Classes at CrossFit Ravage run exactly 1 hour in length and include a warmup, workout explanation, workout, and dedicated instruction from a CrossFit certified trainer. All skill levels are welcome at any class!

A typical class could look like this:

  • Members arrive 5–10 minutes early, or right on time.
This gives you a chance to say hi, settle in, and get ready to move.

  • Coach begins with a group warm-up.
This part is designed to get your body moving and ready for the workout ahead. It might include stretching, light cardio, and bodyweight movements, nothing too intimidating.

  • Next, the coach explains the workout of the day (WOD).
You'll hear what the workout is, how long it will take, and any specific tips for how to approach it. The coach will go over each movement and offer modifications based on your fitness level.

  • You’ll practice the movements with the coach.
This is where you get to try things out, ask questions, and make sure you feel confident before the workout starts.

  • Then, it’s time for the workout!
Everyone does the same workout, but it’s scaled to your ability. You’ll be moving alongside others, encouraged by the group energy, and coached through it the whole way.

  • Cool down and high fives.
After the workout, if time allows, your coach will guide a short cool-down and stretch, then you’re done! You’ll leave feeling sweaty, proud, and stronger than when you walked in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Tight fitting but comfortable clothing will be best suited for most days. Wear athletic clothing that you would feel comfortable jumping and running around in, maybe even going upside down if you are up for it! Flat-soled and stable athletic shoes are recommended. Running shoes are acceptable but may not be suitable for all workouts. Styling your hair up and out of your face is recommended.

We have bottled water for sale, as well as a water bottle filling station, but you may want to bring a reusable water bottle. A towel for sweat or the cold plunge, a light snack, and a fresh change of clothes may be nice to bring but are not required.

We do have a children's room with a television and some toys. Kids are welcome so long as they are able to stay within the defined space. We love having kiddos in the facility, but also have to be mindful of safety and distractions during classes.

Although we are animal lovers at Ravage, we do have a no animal policy in order to maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone.
